L-Carnitine L-Tartrate Review

To continue on SD Pharmaceuticals great line of pure products I will move forward with their L-Carnitine L-Tartrate product they have combined with AstraGin for enhanced absorption. I will try to be as helpful and informative as I can but if I have missed anything or if you have any questions there is a comment box below you are more then welcome to help me out with!

No complaints at all here! Extremely beneficial supplementation from a company that greatly sacrifices profit margins to source high quality ingredients. I recommend 2 capsules, twice a day for a 3g total daily dose.

L-Carnitine L-Tartrate (LCLT) has been used and promoted in the past as a vehicle of transportation from the fat cell to muscle metabolism, creating a greater oxidization of your own bodies fat used for energy throughout exercise then without its use. But what LCLT offers that stands out in my mind is its ability, at a 2-3g daily dose, to increase the intramuscular anabolic activity during and post-exercise. Giving not only increased endurance, but a more anabolic recovery.

There is also a relatively unknown drastic synergistic effect when taking both high dose omega-3’s and carnitine for fat loss. Omega-3’s have an abundance of effects but in this particular case Omega-3’s have an increase in metabolic rate due to there ability to increase cell activity, and in turn, fat burning activity through beta oxidization. In regards to most people who are overweight, they are insulin resistant, causing a blocking of insulin and glucose to the cells disrupting their ability to properly burn energy. What happens with Omega-3’s in regards to insulin is they activate a PPAR agonist which has been used by the pharmaceutical industry to promote insulin sensitivity, weight loss and treatment of diabetes. Omega-3 fatty acids are natural PPAR agonists, through the effective combination of high dose omega-3’s and L-carnitine L-tartrate it is extraordinarily effective at reducing both visceral and subcutaneous fat.

How L-carnitine L-tartrate works in conjunction with the fish oils is that carnitine is the delivery system for long chain fatty acids. If you can’t get the fatty acids into the cell, you can’t burn them. By supplementing with carnitine you will be able to more efficiently deliver the long chain fatty acids (carbons greater than 12) into the cell. So by combining the two, you are increasing insulin sensitivity resulting increase delivery of insulin and glucose to the cell, you will have an increase of long chain fatty acids delivered to the cell all while balancing blood sugar.

One of the greatest benefits of L-carnitine L-tartrate is the natural, caffeine free energy you will receive from adequate dosing due to the increase ability to use depository carbs and fat for energy use.
