N.O. Xplode 2.0 is the third reformulation of the classic. First we had N.O Xplode, then we had N.O. Xplode NT, now we have the 2.0 version. To be perfectly honest, I have never been a real fan of any of these products.

Very large proprietary blends even leaving the experienced users dumb founded for how much of what is in each serving. 20+ ingredients per scoop under a blanket 19.6g per scoop leaves loose estimates for all ingredients making it tough for anybody to run pure products along side this pre-workout to ensure they are getting the proper daily dose. That being said, I do get a serious rush from this product. I have been taking stimulants for a long time and 1.5 – 2 scoops of this gets me up and ready to train. The only thing is its extensive formula sits in my stomach a bit while doing high intensity training which is why I recommend it is best used for a power and/ or strength program. I find whenever doing any cardio, muscular endurance or muscular hypertrophy training the shorter rest periods give my stomach discomfort during training. If you are interested in this product I would recommend it most with a program that has 120 seconds+ rest intervals.

Although, for the same category of pre-workout supplementation I would suggest you opt for Force Factor Body Rush, Xtreme Formulations Vengeance or Cellucor M5 2 in 1.

Atomic 7 deserves an 8.5/10.

Atomic 7 is a BCAA base product designed for pre, intra or post workout nutrition. I personally recommend you incorporate a product of this category intra-workout, when you are trying to cut fat. My reasoning behind this is that BCAA’s offer major, extremely low calorie anabolic environment for your muscles during training. Historically, BCAA’s have been used in hospitals for the restoration of nitrogen balance and protein synthesis for those under extreme stress such as burn victims, starvation patients or people just coming our of surgery. However, reports of muscle growth and strength benefits have been noted among athletes and bodybuilders. Recent research has shown that up to 90% of total daily intake of leucine can be used for energy purposes in endurance athletes which indicates the serious importantance of dietary and supplemental sources of leucine to accommodate this and maintain a positive nitrogen balance.

What you don’t see often in pump product is pycnogenol. Pycnogenol has been shown to enhance blood vessel expansion plus increase endurance in athletic and exercise performance.

Aside from formula construction and the studies behind the present ingredients, it’s always important to get first hand experience on how someone truly “felt” on this product rather than just read about it. I love NO3 Chrome. When I think of stim-free pump products this always comes immediately to mind. It guarantees me a greater pump in the gym and you can hands down feel the difference when you incorporate it.

Test it out yourself, try your favourite pre-workout alone. Then try drinking your favourite pre-workout along side 3 caps of NO3 Chrome. For me it takes about 25-35mins to feel the full effects. These types of programs will allow you to utilize A-Bomb to its ability as skeletal muscle pumps are not near as prominent in the 1-5 rep range, strength training philosophies.

The difference was extremely evident. Last time I had felt more fatigued at the end of the day and sex drive was low due to the amount of excess stress I was putting on my body. The testosterone boosting effects and libido would have also came from the increased quality of sleep I was getting. Which brings me to another point, Thrust worked very fast for me. Usually DAA products are the absolute fastest at reaching potential when it comes to test boosters but I would vouch for Thrust in this category as well. By days 3-7 I noticed my appetite increasing, sleep quality improving (deep sleeps and vivid, memorable dreams) and libido was through the roof. By days 14 and beyond my muscles felt much denser and strength was up, could have been from the crazy training stimulus as well, but they were denser then they have been in the past under the same training and diet circumstances so I gave the density enhancement to Thrust.

All in all I had a good experience with this product and would recommend you would run two bottles back to back. This will last you 40 days and give you a really good feel on how Thrust reacts with your body, and my guess is that feel is going to be good. Like I previously eluded to, I have ran a boat load of test boosters in the past and I only like a certain few of them and Thrust is on that list.

ErgoPump NMT is a powdered, pre-workout product designed to increase long and short term energy, strength and skeletal muscle pumps. Upon first review of this product it looks pretty basic in its formula, and it is, but that’s honestly what I like about it. When you become experienced in supplementation and have been in the game as long as I have you really are only looking for a select number of ingredients to perform a desired effect/benefit at an efficacious dose. This is what ErgoPump NMT offers, which is rare for concentrates. Often times the word “concentrate” is more so just a term to describe “under dosed in physiologically benefiting ingredients but high dosed in stimulants”. Ergogenix didn’t go down this path.

Each scoop has over 10g’s of A-AKG, creatine monohydrate, citrulline malate, creatine citrate, maltodextrin and grape seed extract. That’s a fantastic profile for a concentrated pre-workout, larger doses is all areas providing what you want in a pre-workout. As well as the combination of caffeine and NMT (N-Methyltyramine) supporting the long and short term energy bursts. ErgoPump to me was a good, solid pre-workout. I never once crashed on this product and the combination of caffeine and NMT truly delivered on the long term energy feel. ErgoPump NMT with just one scoop provides a full serving. But I really can’t.

I genuinely felt a solid energy rush within 10 minutes of consuming this product that I was not expecting. I got all the same feelings you get from a stimmed pre-workout such as the eyes start to widen and don’t feel as heavy, your focus starts dialling in, energy levels climb up and you feel like you want to go lift something heavy. From an energy standpoint, this product delivered more stim-free energy than Omega Sports Ultima, which is saying a lot.

Aside from the stim-free energy the formula itself is that of what you would want in your pre-workout nutrition. All larger dosed ingredients are instantized for quick mix ability. As you can see below, I received the “Cellular Punch” flavour and it mixed up with no effort and had no ruminants on the bottom:

With a completely instantized formula including (in order of most abundant to least) L-leucine, Beta alanine, L citrulline malate, Glycine, Calcium and sodium bi carbonate we have a much more modern performance enhancer. Though extremely important to the muscle building / performance enhancing process, ingredients like Leucine, Beta alanine and citrulline can be found in many other competitive products. In my opinion what stood out was the emphasis on pH balance and the inclusion of bicarbonates. Using bicarbonates to buffer lactic acid build up is a fantastic addition to the formula allowing your muscles to push harder for longer. For those of you with a bit of an exercise physiology background, you can think of bicarbonates as pushing down on the hydrogen ions and maintaining a much more alkaline environment. Raising the muscles pH level and allowing your body to be much more equipped to handle the hydrogen ions produce during training.

With leucine kick starting anabolism, beta-alanine / glycine / bicarbonates working with each other to allow for greater endurance, lots of electrolytes and citrulline supporting proper blood flow to working muscles I would say we have a very well rounded formula.

Try OPUS out by itself first, even if you are an avid caffeine user, because I am and I could honestly use this product pre-workout without additional stimulants and have the same energy levels. If necessary you could stack it with a stimulated pre-workout product and have an even larger formula, but in my opinion it is unnecessary. If you do want to stack it I would stack it with something very basic, such as Animal Rage. They will compliment off of each other with caffeine rush from another product combined with the real physiological benefiting formula of OPUS. I found when used as directed it tasted great, so no recommendations for taste here.

“So What is NMT?”

NMT is, and should only be looked at, as a pure energy compound. It comes in convenient 35mg capsules, 75 capsules per bottle. Which is more than enough to last you quite awhile as I found it unnecessary to go above 3 capsules a day, more ideally 2 a day should keep you up and rockin’.

Aside from the energy component, tyramine acts as a neurotransmitter in the body that promotes norepinephrine release which regulates the uptake and use of glucose. For those of you of caloric deficits and/or cutting weight, this will heavily promote the post-workout restoration of glycogen stores.

For me personally NMT worked well. I tried the gauntlet of energy consumption. Had it with a meal, on an empty stomach by itself, on an empty stomach along side another pre-workout product and it delivered in all areas, even surprisingly the “with a meal” dose. NMT acted as much more of a focus type energy as opposed to caffeine and 1,3 DMAA offer a more intense feel. NMT gave me jittery free energy with no crash, can’t complain there. From a pure energy product, that’s the best you can ask for.

There really is no reason not to try this one out, super cheap and when considering it is just one type of stimulant, it’s a fairly well rounded one. I recommend running 1-cap along side your pre-workout product of choice and seeing how you feel, of course cutting the dose of your current pre-workout’s stimulant aspect making a suitable introduction for NMT.
